CTS • Switching IT providers

Better IT starts with a clear transition plan.

Changing IT providers can feel like a bigger risk than staying with the wrong one. CTS helps you understand what needs to move, who owns each step, and how to keep your team informed throughout the handoff.

For Atlanta businesses and organizations beyond the metro area, we start with your current environment and priorities—then define the work before making changes.

Ready for a different kind of IT relationship?

You need clearer ownership.

Recurring issues, missing documentation, or uncertainty about who manages your accounts can make every technology decision harder. A transition is an opportunity to establish responsibilities and visibility.

You need support that fits your business.

Your team may have outgrown its current arrangement, need stronger security, or need help alongside internal IT. We’ll discuss your operating hours, existing resources, and the coverage you actually need.

How we plan the handoff.

Every environment is different. These are the areas we work through together; your proposal defines the activities, responsibilities, and schedule for your transition.

01 • Understand

Review the environment and priorities.

We discuss your users, locations, devices, business applications, Microsoft 365 or other cloud services, and current support arrangements. We identify immediate concerns and information gaps before setting a transition date.

02 • Coordinate

Confirm access and responsibilities.

With your authorization, we coordinate with your outgoing provider and relevant vendors to request documentation, administrative access, licensing information, and backup details. We flag dependencies and clarify what your organization owns.

03 • Plan

Agree on the sequence of changes.

We define the onboarding scope, contacts, support coverage, and timing. Work that could affect users is scheduled with your team. Potential interruptions, vendor dependencies, and recovery considerations are discussed before the affected work begins.

04 • Establish

Put the support relationship in place.

We carry out the agreed onboarding activities, establish the covered systems and support process, and explain how employees should request help. We review the handoff with your designated contact and identify any remaining work for the roadmap.

What to gather before we talk.

You don’t need every answer to start. If available, bring:

Please don’t send passwords or sensitive account details through the website contact form or ordinary email. We’ll agree on an appropriate way to exchange access information.

Choose coverage with the handoff in mind.

Your transition plan and ongoing support plan should work together. Silver Workstation covers monitoring and protection, with incident helpdesk billed separately. Gold adds business-hours remote incident helpdesk. Platinum provides covered remote incident helpdesk 24/7.

Servers, network devices, Microsoft licensing, onsite work, projects, advanced security, and disaster recovery are separately scoped. We’ll confirm the combination your business needs in your proposal.

Common questions about switching.

Will switching providers cause downtime?

That depends on the environment and the work required. We identify likely service impacts and plan changes around your business where practical. Some migrations, access changes, or remediation may require a scheduled interruption; we won’t promise a zero-downtime transition without assessing the work.

Do we have to replace our computers or move everything to the cloud?

We start by understanding what you have. Any recommended replacement, migration, or major change is discussed and scoped rather than assumed to be part of the switch.

Can CTS work with our current provider?

With your authorization, we can coordinate a professional handoff and request the information needed for the agreed transition. Timing depends on access, provider cooperation, vendor requirements, and your existing arrangements.

What if our documentation or administrator access is incomplete?

Tell us early. We’ll identify the gaps and discuss recovery or discovery work that may be needed. Account ownership verification and vendor processes can affect the timeline and scope.

How long does onboarding take, and what does it cost?

We confirm a proposed schedule and price after reviewing your environment, access, priorities, and required changes. Onboarding and project work are defined separately from ongoing workstation coverage.

Can we keep our internal IT team?

Yes. We can discuss a co-managed arrangement with a clear division of responsibilities, escalation paths, and services. The goal is to give your team the support it needs.

Let’s make the next step clear.

Tell us what isn’t working today and what you need from your next IT partner. We’ll discuss the environment, the handoff, and the right way forward.
